The brain behind Dangote foundation scholarship is Aliko Dangote. Likewise, he is Africa’s richest man.

Moreover, he founded and chairs the Dangote group which is Africa’s largest cement producer. In fact, Dangote also stakes in publicly traded salt, sugar, and flour manufacturing companies.

His net worth was  15billion dollars as of 2024. Nevertheless, note that Dangote is an educated businessman. 

He went to Sheikh Ali Kumasi madrasa (an Arabic school). Aliko Dangote further went to Capital High School, Kano state.

Dangote went to college in Egypt where he pursued a course in Business Studies. This was from Alhazar University, Cairo.

  • Aliko Dangote, Africa’s richest man, founded and chairs Dangote Cement, the continent’s largest cement producer.
  • He owns 85% of publicly-traded Dangote Cement through a holding company.
  • Dangote Cement produces 45.6 million metric tons annually and has operations in 10 countries across Africa.

  • Dangote Refinery has been under construction since 2016 and is expected to be one of the world’s largest oil refineries once complete.

Dangote Foundation scholarship was borne out of its quest to contribute to the development of Education in Nigeria.

The management has therefore announced free scholarships for any who meets its requirements. The scholarship is tagged ” Help My people Scholarship”.

  1. All applications will be done online. Furthermore, before applying, you must make sure you have clear scanned copies of the documents listed below.
  • Passport photograph with white background with a white background which must not be more than 3months old.
  • The size of the passport photograph must not be more than 200kb.
  • The resolution recommended for the passport photograph is (450×450).
  • Admission letter from your institution of learning.
  • Birth certificate
  • School Id card (You could use your eligibility)
  • Birth certificate
  • O’Level Results
  • Local Government Area letter of identification/LGA of origin.
  • Jamb result.  

2. Make sure the documents are named accordingly. This is so, as not to mix up documents when uploading.
