Before now, I have earlier stated that there are two ways to know if you have been admitted by JAMB

One of the ways is by checking your schools portal while the other was by using the JAMB Profile Method.

If you have not created your JAMB profile, you can still do that now by clicking here

However, today, I am going to quickly chip in a third method you can use to check your admission status or know if you have been admitted easily.

Of course that’s the reason we are discussing the subject on How to Use JAMB CAPS System To Check Admission Status.

It suffice to note that there are 4 very important questions running through the minds of JAMB 2017 candidates right now after JAMB registrar announced that having a high Jamb Score is not a guarantee for admission this year.

For those of you who are still lost, CAPS is Central Admission Processing System and was recently introduced by JAMB.

Therefore, to check you admission status on JAMB’s CAPS portal, simply follow the instructions below.

  • Visit: https://www.jamb.gov.ng/EfacilityLogin and login with your registered email address and password to access your dashboard
  • Click on ‘Check Admission Status,
  • Click on ‘Access my CAPS’
  • Click on ‘Admission Status’ to see if you have been offered admission.
  • If you have been admitted you will get a response with your Photo Image being displayed and a text Congratulating you on your admission offer, But if you are not offered any admission yet you will get a text response with “Sorry No Admission has been Given Yet“
  • If you have been offered admission, you can proceed to ACCEPT OR REJECT ADMISSION

Successfully admitted candidates are advised to ensure that they indicate the acceptance or rejection of admission online and timely to enable the processing of their admission.

It is important to note also that candidates who have been offered admission are to print their admission letter after accepting the admission, as they will likely need this during clearance and registration in the school that they have been admitted.

Note: If you are using a phone, you may not see the option to check Admission Status on CAPS, Most phone users may only see the welcome message. You are to use the desktop mode to view the complete page. This is why the chrome browser is recommended if you are using a phone. All you need to do is go to Chrome option and choose request desktop site for the complete page to display.

  • Stroll into any cyber cafe or of course you can use your smartphone if you have data
  • Then, click on your fastest and most reliable browser especially google chrome.
  • Visit the JAMB CAPS admission checking portal by clicking here.

Immediately you click that, the portal will open as shown below

Use JAMB CAPS System To Check Admission Status

  • Then input your JAMB registration number in the space where you will see UTME Registration number at the JAMB CAPS homepage.
  • Information such as institution, date of birth, JAMB score and others will be required of you  immediately you click on submit.
  • You will immediately see two options which is either to accept or reject the admission.
  • Of course, if you like the course given to you click on accept
  • If you don’t like the course given to you click on accept or reject but I will advice you to accept if it’s same institution except you will like to get admission through IJMB instantly and meet up with your mates in 200L.
  • Also, if the institution and course space is not showing anything or blank as the case maybe, do not click on accept admission but just patiently keep checking back.
  • lastly, note that immediately you accept admission offered to you, then your admission opportunity for the year running is closed.

How Can I Accept My Admission On JAMB CAPS Profile

This is very simple.

If you follow the process outlined in the article on how Use JAMB CAPS System To Check Admission Status  above.’

It gets to a point where you are only left with just two choice

  • To accept the admission given to you
  • To reject the admission

If  accept admission shows when you have not been offered admission, do not panic, it doesn’t have any effect.

What Is The Consequence of Not Accepting My Admission On JAMB CAPS portal

No qualms.

If you did not accept your admission it means you did it intentionally.

This may be due to the fact that you were given a course you didn’t like or you want to prepare for JAMB 2019.

If the first case is the case, you might be lucky to see another course if you keep checking.

  14. Please, may I know if it is only through the JAMB CAPS that we can check our admission status. This is because I could not log in through the CAPS as it is reading incorrect log in details and the regular portal where I have my jamb profile is saying that I have not been given admission yet. Pls,l need an urgent response,l checked my daughter admission status on Aaua admission list,it was sent to me DEC 12 that her request on d course of her choice has been recorded after WC we are to accept or reject,l accepted it but since then if l check on jamb caps ,what is written Is,u have not be offered admission,pls what do l do,is there any hope for her? Or have they not released d list for mass communication candidates?or the website from WC l checked not authentic? Pls help m out

Pls what is going on in aaua admission ,l checked my admission status on aaua admission list,l l was to either accept or reject since DEC, till now l HV not seen any msg that l HV been offerer admission,whereva l checked on jamb caps it is u have not be offered admission,is d aaua admission lists website not authentic? Or d admission for mass comm candidates not in progress?

  20. I scores 228 in jamb and 52 in uniben post utme but was not given admission, funny thing is that some else got the same score in the post utme and was given admission. Av checked all jamb and school website but no admission and also the caps.. In case jamb people or uniben people are seeing this, I need to go to school badly, this will be my 2nd time now but no admission and it’s not like I didn’t pass the exams. ?

  66. on my caps,under transfer approval,it says that

    Your First Choice Institution want to transfer you from your program / course of preference to another program / course. You are required to either accept or reject, this transfer consideration

    If you accept, your first choice institution will be able to admit you in the new program.

    If you reject, you will remain in your prefered Course / Program. The program transfer will not be effected. and my old programs where stated below with the new program
