Federal College of Agriculture, Akure, Nigeria (formerly School of Agriculture) is renowned/leading Agricultural college in Nigeria, with a tremendous number of achievements and awards. FECA was established in 1957 by the Government of Western Nigeria to train certified agricultural assistants and middle-level manpower in the area of agriculture.

By 1991, the College administration which had passed through so many hands (Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Federal Ministry of Science and Technology, Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources, Institute of Agriculture and Research Training, Ibadan) came under the supervision of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and the curriculum regulation of National Board for Technical Education to award National Diploma (ND) in Agricultural Technology .

The College has since 1993 been offering both National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) in key areas of Agriculture and related fields.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

WASC or GCE O’Level or SSCE/NECO/NABTEB with a minimum of five (5) credit passes obtained at not more than two sittings. The five subjects must include Chemistry, Biology or Agricultural Science plus three other subjects from Economics, English Language, Geography, Mathematics, Physics or Statistics.
Candidates must, in addition, obtain credit passes in English Language and Mathematics or Statistics.
Five credit passes in NBTE recognized Preliminary National Diploma (Pre-ND) course offered in a Polytechnic or similar Post-Secondary Institution.
The five credit passes must be from the subjects specified in (A) above.

Duration:

The aforementioned Part-time ND courses will run for 6 semesters (3 years)
All Programmes are accredited by NBTE
