The College was established in the year 2014 as College of Technical and Commercial Agriculture at Isan-Ekiti by Dr. Kayode Fayemi led Government of Ekiti-State with focus on middle-level manpower development in the Agricultural sector, but this was truncated due to neglect by the immediate past Government.

Dr. John Kayode Fayemi was however re-elected as the Governor of Ekiti State in 2018,on assumption of office, the Governor reiterated his commitment to the commencement of the College and the development of agriculture which is one of the four-point agenda of his administration. This led to the college re-enactment in 2019 under the provision of the College of Agriculture and Technology, Isan-Ekiti Law, No.6 of 2019.

The College officially kicked-off in September 2019 with the appointment of the pioneer Rector, Professor Johnson Kayode Adesodun and the pioneer Registrar, Mr Joseph Akin Olorunsola

Having considered the shift of Nigeria focus on Oil to Agriculture for economic growth, the College pose to fill the gap of the diversification by training and producing a graduate who will be verse in Agricultural and Technological knowledge needed to do great exploit in the sector. The College will also empower her Graduates to be Entrepreneur by providing linkages for grant, fundraising and various empowerment schemes.

The College runs both short and long-term certificate awarding courses in Academic Programmes covering six different Schools for a start, which includes, School of Agriculture & Technology, School of Business Studies, School of Engineering, School of Sciences, School of Environmental Studies, and a Centre for Entrepreneurship Skill Acquisition and Vocational Studies.

The College is firmly committed to offering students of widely varied ages, interests and needs, a broad range of Agricultural opportunities and experiences of which will lead to the production of exemplary Agricultural Practitioners and Technology Researchers who are productive members of the society.
