It is never too young to learn how little things that our kids can contribute to make the world a better place.

It is not very often that one can do a great deed but the little good acts that everyone does can collectively make the world a better place.

Nurture our kids from young and make it a habit in them to contribute rather than just a selfish taker from society.

I believe we can start it young and make it a habit for kids to contribute their part for a better world.

This article will share some ideas of little things that our kids can contribute to make the world a better place.

Conserve water

There are people in other parts of the world who may lack the basic need like water.

There can be lots of water around but clean water may be extremely limited.

Water is precious and we should not waste it unnecessarily.

We should guide and live by example on how we can reduce and reuse our water.

Instead of washing our plates under running water, our children can get a tub of water to wash their plates to reduce excessive use of water.

After washing our vegetables, our children can reuse the water to wash our toilet or water our plants.

They can be many ways how we can reduce and reuse water and it is really how we make the effort to do it.

Our natural resources can run out over time.

Natural resources like coal, oil, gas or water provides energy for factories, vehicles and even our homes. Some natural resources may not be able to be replaced easily once they are used up.

We should teach our children to switch off the house lights when no one is around to use it to save electricity.

We can also switch off the air-con when the weather is not warm to conserve the heavy use of electricity.

Even though it may look like a small act, it can save a lot of energy when every child in every home puts in the effort to do so.

Graciousness

We can teach our children to give up their seats in public places or on public transportation to those we need it more than us.

Giving up their seats to the elderly, pregnant ladies or toddlers can teach them to be gracious and considerate from young.

We should also teach our children to queue patiently while making payment or getting things.

They should not try to cut queue even when others are doing it.

Modern world has made many adults in wanting everything within seconds so we should teach and show our children that we can be gracious through little things that can make the world a better place when everyone does them.

We should also teach our children to help others especially the elderly to carry things or other possible ways when they can. We often see young men who may see the need to help but pretend to be looking elsewhere or busy looking at their mobile devices.

Our children can also contribute a little from their pocket money to charity and we can share with them that when everyone contributes a little, it can collectively become a huge help to the needy.

There are quite a few charity organisations in steemit that get their funds through our upvotes. Even though our upvotes may not be like those whales but we can help with our little upvotes as collectively these upvotes can be a great help too.
