How To Prepare For NYSC Orientation Camp – Official Requirements

Once you have received your call up letter, it is only wise that you start preparation for the orientation ASAP.

So, what do you need and what do you not need?

• Your Call Up Letter

This is not the case of many are called but few are chosen.

Immediately your call up letter appears, it therefore means you have been called and chosen at the same time.

The call up letter is an official letter given to you direct from  NYSC.

It is the proof that you are eligible for the orientation and a prospective NYSC Corp member.

Therefore, don’t mistakenly forget it because if you do you will regret it.

As another official stress will be handed to you.

This often leads to disorganization and unwanted fear.

In conclusion, endeavor to carry your official call up letter when going to the orientation camp.

Likewise, you should know that this letter will be retrieved from you.

• School ID Card

This is another important document you need to take to the orientation camp.

You should know by now that several states are coming together for the orientation camp.

Likewise you guys will have to wear a uniform.

The only differentiating factor most times is your school ID Card.

Therefore, if you have misplaced yours, you need to do it now to avoid stress latter.

• Registration Papers

Tag along with all the documents you uploaded to the NYSC portal.

This is important especially when you are a foreign student.

You will be expected to bring along the ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS you uploaded to the portal.

This will be used for Your evaluation and Physical Verification.

• Your NYSC Green Card

Several people have been asking me what green card really means.

Is it really green in color? (lol).

Well, the good thing is that you are here.

The green card contains your bio data and other personal details.

It is the first print out you make when you originally did your NYSC registration.

You have to print this before you print out your call up letter.

Therefore, if you have gone to your school looking for one green colored paper, rush and go get your first print out.

• University/Polytechnic Statement Of Result

Well when you graduate form a university, the first result that comes out is your statement of result.

Relate this to while you were still in secondary school.

The WAEC statement of result comes out first before the main result is issued.

Therefore, for the orientation purpose, you need to make sure you tag along with your Statement of result.

• How To Prepare For NYSC Orientation Camp – Passport Photograph

There are so many groups in the NYSC orientation Camp.

The likes of them include political groups, religious groups skill acquisition groups, etc.

So, you may be wondering why you need this.

But of course you need it.

Just as you used passport photographs to register almost anything while you were in school, the case is not different now.

Passport photographs will be needed to do most of the registrations stated above.

Likewise, you will need to open an account.

The account I am talking about here is a BANK ACCOUNT where your Allawee will be paid.

Well you can use my passport there thou (lol).

Therefore, you need to take many passport to the orientation camp

• How To Prepare For NYSC Orientation Camp – Licenses

After final year students write their final paper, you see them taking pictures and tagging themselves as certified graduates.

This happens especially in mostly the medical field,Dentists, lab scientists, pharmacists, nursing and Basic Medical Science (BMS).

Anyway, you will need to take along your evidence of certification.

Certificates here are those provided by the approved medical, dental and pharmaceutical associations.

Examples of this associations include the Nigerian Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria as well as Pharmacists Council of Nigeria.

Once you have been certified, carry the document to the NYSC orientation camp.

Of course it is advisable to make photocopies of all the documents as a result of many registrations and submissions.

How To Prepare For NYSC Orientation Camp -Outfit

Well this is often the pride of the NYSC.

Seeing people wearing white on white with white sneakers looking like cattle eaglets (lol).

That was on a lighter note thou.

Therefore, lets quickly see some of the outfits you need for the NYSC Orientation Camp.

• White Sneakers and Shorts
• white shorts
• Round Neck T-shirts

All these 3 are very important as they are the allowed outfit during the NYSC orientation camp.

Although you will be given two white shorts at the camp.

But in most cases, the shorts are often not your size.

Some may be too big or tool small.

Which ever the case, it is advisable to get like two more so as to maintain your cleanliness.

Likewise, you will be handed over 2 pairs of  customized NYSC round neck T shirt.

But you may still need to get some more.

Then finally, on the white sneakers, I will assume you know the story.

You will also be given a pair but it is usually of a very low quality.

Therefore you might not want to rely on that.

Oh my! did I forget socks.

Get that to in numbers except you want to wear it out by washing everyday.
