Admission Requirements and Duration:

Those who wish to apply for any of the programme must have the following:-

a) Post Basic Midwifery Programme:

Is Eighteen (18) months Duration and eligible candidates must have five credit passes in SSCE, WASC/NECO or GCE which should include among others English Language, Mathematics and Three (3) Science Subjects (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) at not more than two sittings.

Candidate must also be registered Nurse (RN) with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.

Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into Post Basic Midwifery programmes 2021/2022 Academic Session. Interested applicants should come to the College and obtain application pin number for online application on payment of application fee of six thousand two hundred (N6200) Naira only Into TSA pay point of ATBUTH, Bauchi. The application forms will be available with effect from 13th September, to 23rd September, 2021. Hard copies of the completed forms should be returned to the College on or before 23rd September, 2021

The candidates Must have five Credits in English, Mathematics, Biology. Chemistry and Physics in NECO, WAEC or NABTEB in not more than two sittings. NABTEB can only be combined with NABTEB in addition to the Basic requirements mentioned above, candidate must be a registered Nurse.

Screening Interview

Screening interview will be conducted on 27 September, 2024. The Screening interview will be conducted at College of Nursing Sciences ATBU Teaching Hospital Bauchi

b) Post Basic Opthalmic Nursing Programme:

Duration: One year Program and candidates wishing to enroll must be qualified registered Nurses (RN) with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria with at least one year post qualification experience.

Additional Post Basic Diploma/Certificate/other relevant course could be an added advantage.

In Addition to the above, eligible candidates must have five credit passes in SSCE/WASC/NECO or GCE which should include among others, English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology at not more than two sittings.

c) Post Basic Aneasthesia Programme:

Is Eighteen (18) months duration and eligible candidates must have five credit passes in SSCE, WASC/NECO or GCE which should include among others English Language, Mathematics and Three (3) Science Subjects (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) at not more than two sittings.

Candidate must also be registered Nurse (RN) with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.

d) Post Basic Paediatric Nursing Programme: 

Duration: One (1) year programme and candidates wishing to apply must be registered Nurses (RN) with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria and must have at least one year Post Qualification/Registration experience.

Additional Post Basic Diploma/Certificate/Other relevant courses could be an added advantage.

In additional to the above, eligible candidates must have five credit passes in SSCE WASC/NECO or GCE which should include among others, English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology at not more than two sittings.

Eligible candidates will be requested to sit for a written aptitude test to be followed by an oral interview.

For the selection interview, candidates are to come along with the originals of all their Certificates, license, evidence of sponsorship, certificates of workshop attended etc.

Pregnancy in Training

Any student who becomes pregnant during training is advised to continue her studies, but could take leave to have her baby and thereafter resume studies. However, the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria’s rules on demotion to a lower class for twenty-one (21) days absenteeism is applicable.

Method of Application

Interested applicants should come to School of Midwifery, ATBU Teaching Hospital to collect Invoice to enable them pay the fees at TSA pay points at ATBUTH, Bauchi.

The Forms will be collected at the school after payment.

Submission of Forms

Hard copies of the completed forms should be returned to the College on or before 11th December, 2021

Entrance Exam

The entrance exams will be conducted on Saturday 18th December, 2021.

Successful candidates will be invited for interview on 10th January, 2022.

The entrance exams and interview will be conducted at College of Nursing Sciences ATBU Teaching Hospital Bauchi.
