University of Ibadan Academic Calendar

This is to inform all the students of the University of Ibadan (UI) that the authorities of the institution have released the academic calendar for the  1st semester and 2nd semester, academic session.

Background

The University extended the previous session by two weeks to make up for academic time lost during an ASUU disruption. This adjustment affected the timeline leading into the 2025/2026 academic session.


Key Dates for 2025/2026 Session

End of 2024/2025 Session Activities

  • Second-Semester Examinations:

    • Held 1 December – 31 December 2025, depending on faculty.

  • Result Processing:

    • 5 January – 16 January 2026

  • Senate Consideration of Results:

    • Late January to mid-February 2026


Start of the 2025/2026 Academic Session

  • Session Commencement Date:
    Monday, 9 March 2026
    (For both undergraduate and postgraduate students)

In approving the Calendar, Senate noted the prevailing circumstances occasioned by the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic and the need to comply with the protocols established for the control of the spread of the pandemic. It, therefore, agreed that  First Semester lectures will be delivered online. In this regard, students will not be accommodated on campus.

Senate also approved the cancellation of the  session. The next session is, therefore, renamed 1Academic Session. Consequently, students who have been admitted for the   session will now be regarded as the  intakes.

Kindly note that the online opening of the Registration Portal and Orientation Programme for the  intakes may commence ahead of the Sat  date indicated above
