A.F.S.S was founded september 1983 and is located in the Air Force Base at Ikeja,Lagos state. The school which originally comprised of both military and civilian non- teaching and teaching staff was lead by a civilian principal(Mrs Angulu). As years went by, the military took over control of the school and on the 26th of october 1986, the NAFCADET(nigerian air force cadet) was formed. Their duties were to assist the leaders of the school in maintaining unity, order and peace, and was also designed to give a broad view of military experience to those enlisted. The school’s first “Commandant” was Flt Lft Lawal, he reigned for about three years, then Sqr Ldr .D. Abdul took over, he handed over to Sqr Ldr B.S Ojebola, who shook the school and made it aware and known that A.F.S.S was a disciplined school for achievers, shortly after(3-4yrs), he was transferred to our sister school A.F.C.S Ibadan(Air Force comprehensive School), Sqr Ldr I.W Bassi took over power and became the school’s Commandant. Presntly, the school is runned by both civilian and military staff and headed by a military commandant, the school still upholds what she is known for nationwide, her discipline.

The lists of successful candidates for admission into JSS1 of Air Force Secondary Schools for  Academic Session have been released.
