Alabama Academic Calendar 2026-2027

Spring 2026 registration time assignments are now available.

The online graduation application in myBama becomes available for Graduate & Undergraduate students.

Payment in full or participation in a payment plan is required before noon on December 10, 2025 for all Spring bills.

Students who successfully upload a defended thesis or dissertation to ETD – ProQuest by this date and have already met 599/699 minimum research hours required may take a minimum registration concession in their final semester. This exception is only given if the student is registered for required 599/699 hours in the previous semester.

Last day for your instructor to submit a grade change for incomplete grades (if your GPA is less than 3.0) from Fall 2025 semester. “I” grades will automatically convert to “F” after this date. If your GPA is 3.0 or higher, incomplete grades from Fall 2025 will be converted to ‘F’ at the end of the Fall semester. NOTE: The instructor of record can complete a grade change at any time.

Last day to submit a graduation application online through myBama.

Only after petition and approval by the student’s college will an application be accepted after the published deadline. If approved, a non-refundable late fee will be assessed in addition to the graduation application fee.

Instructors are required to submit midterm grades for all 100- and 200-level courses. The submission of midterm grades for 300- and 400-level courses is strongly encouraged. Midterm grading should be used to denote any and all students who have never attended or stopped attending class, regardless of course level. Spring Holidays begin at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 13th.

Summer and Fall 2026 registration time assignments will be available by March 1, 2026.

This is a student’s last opportunity to drop a course. Drops after this date must be approved and processed by the student’s college.

The week immediately preceding the final examination period each semester is reserved as a time in which students may concentrate on completing course work and preparing for final examinations. As such, The University prohibits all other examinations and extended assignments during that week.

This is the last day students have to withdraw from the term (all classes) without requiring approval from the student’s college Dean’s office. Withdrawals from the Law School always require approval from the Dean’s office.

Last day for your department to enter a Comprehensive Exam, Capstone/Culminating Project, or Proficiency Exam (in Student’s Slate page/enrollment tab) for all non-thesis master’s degree candidates. Failure to report a ‘Pass’ by this date will likely delay graduation.

10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.: Classes which first meet TR between 11:00 a.m. – 12:25 p.m.

1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.: Classes which first meet MWF between 3:00 p.m. – 3:50 p.m.

4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.: Provisional Exam Period – This time may be used to reschedule final exams for students who have exam conflicts or three or more final exams scheduled on Monday-Wednesday of Final Exam Week. Exams should be rescheduled according to the appropriate priority as outlined in the Final Exam Policy.

6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.: Classes which first meet on Thursday and begin 6:00 p.m. or later

Instructors will then be required to submit grade change requests to correct all “N” grades. Deadline for receipt of transfer credit (on an official transcript) for undergraduate degree candidates. If transfer credit is not received by this date, the degree application will be denied and a new degree application will have to be submitted in a future term.

All degrees will be either awarded or denied by the Degree Completion Deadline; no degrees will be awarded after the published deadline. It is the responsibility of the degree candidate to ensure all requirements are met at the end of the term by the published deadline. This will be the last day for edits to the diploma mailing address and diploma name submitted on the degree application. This can be reviewed by accessing the View Graduation Applications link in myBama. Changes submitted after this date will not be taken into consideration.

Diplomas will be shipped approximately three weeks after this deadline. A notification will be sent to the Crimson email account when the diploma has shipped.
