Plateau State University is a university in Bokkos, Plateau State Nigeria. It was established in 2005. It was granted recognition by the National Universities Commission (NUC) on April 29thof the same year 2005 as the 66th University in Nigeria and the 24th state owned University in the Country. The Law Establishing the University is cited as Law No. 4 of 2005 (March 7, 2005) as contained in Plateau State of Nigeria Gazette No. 3, Vol. 11 of May 24, 2006. It is located in Diram Village along the Butura-Tarangol axis in Bokkos Local Government Area, about 70 kilometres away from Jos the Plateau State capital.

Although academic activities started in May 2007 with a total of 480 students, such activities were suspended on September 10 of the same year and the students transferred to the University of Jos. The University was, however, re-opened in October 2010 during the 2010/2011 Academic Session with lectures commencing in January 2011

Following the successful combined virtual convocation of the University on Saturday, 15/08/2022, graduates are hereby further notified of the commencement of collection of their certificates as follows:

PLASU Certificates Collection Procedure.

A)  Graduates of 2015/2016 Academic Session – to commence the collection of their certificates as from Monday, 24th August, 2022 (NOT 17th August as earlier announced)

B) Graduates of 2016/2017 Academic Session – to start the collection of their certificates as from Monday, 31st August, 2022

C) Graduates of 2017/2018 Academic Session – to start the collection of their certificates as from Monday, 7th September, 2022

D) Collection of certificates and convocation booklets will be subject to the payment of ten thousand naira and verification of same by the Bursary as earlier advertised.

E) Collection of certificates will be at the Academic Affairs Division of the Registry Department.

F) Both the confirmation of payment at the Bursary and the collection of certificates from the Academic Affair Office will be based on strict compliance to the Covid-19 safety protocols(of wearing face mask, social/physical distancing, washing of hands with soap and running water/use of hand sanitisers, etc)
