The MPA Global Internship Award (MPA GIA) was introduced by the Maritime and Port Authority in Singapore to provide high-achieving undergraduates with the opportunity to intern with international maritime companies.

Each internship would comprise of both local and overseas components.

The MPA Global Internship Award (GIA) gives students an opportunity to immerse in an experiential learning with international maritime companies in Singapore and around the world.

The fully sponsored MPA GIA programme was introduced by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore to provide high-achieving students with a meaningful and enriching maritime experience in Singapore and abroad.

The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) was established on 2 February 1996, with the mission to develop Singapore as a premier global hub port and international maritime centre (IMC), and to advance and safeguard Singapore’s strategic maritime interests. MPA is the driving force behind Singapore’s port and maritime development, taking on the roles of Port Authority, Port Regulator, Port Planner, IMC Champion, and National Maritime Representative. MPA partners the industry and other agencies to enhance safety, security and environmental protection in our port waters, facilitate port operations and growth, expand the cluster of maritime ancillary services, and promote maritime R&D and manpower development.

Internship Duration: Students will undergo the 12-week programme during the May – August vacation, inclusive of an overseas stint of up to 6 weeks.
