The School of Allied Health Sciences is made up of six (6) departments with four (4) of them currently operational. These include;
Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences
The main focus of the Department is producing the next generation of Medical Laboratory Scientists with a quadripledgial knowledge and skills in medical microbiology, chemical pathology, haematology and histo/cytology who are capable of taking up positions in any of the career paths in the profession.
Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Sciences
The Department seeks to produce Physiotherapists with a strong foundation in clinical knowledge and research equipped with clinical and therapeutic skills for evidence-based physiotherapy practice at entry‐level practice within the legal and ethical framework of the profession locally and internationally.
Department of Nutrition and Dietetics
The Department through its astute, dedicated and dynamic faculty, who are also professionals in the fields of Dietetics, Nutrition, and Food science, have a core mandate of producing the best crop of Dietitians in Ghana and beyond. This is being done through strategic teaching approaches, research, and community service. The Department also provide training in Nutrition and Dietetics for students in the Schools of Medicine, and Nursing and Midwifery.
Department of Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences
The Department seeks to produce speech, language and hearing therapists and audiologists with strong foundation in the clinical knowledge and skills that have a reflection in the sound ethics and professionalism for entry-level practice and perform diverse roles in the broad area of speech, language and hearing sciences.

The Department of Medical Imaging is committed to developing students with knowledge which directly improves health outcomes and health care for patients. Programmes Offered
Bachelor of Nursing
The Bachelor of Nursing programme is intended to produce competent professional nurses who will give quality health care and services in the community, clinics and hospitals; nurses that will give emotional support to clients and their relatives by collaborating with other health workers. The goal of the programme, therefore, is to produce a professional nurse who will provide nursing care and services under the supervision of senior professional nurses, both in the clinical and community settings, with emphasis on nursing operational research, which will help to provide information for quality of nursing education and practice (care).
The UHAS Nursing programme is an upgrade on the Diploma in Nursing curriculum being used by the Nursing Training Institutions in the country.
Bachelor of Midwifery
The Bachelor of Midwifery programme is intended to produce competent professional midwives who will give quality health care and services in the community, clinics and hospitals. Department of Epidemiology & Biostatistics
The Epidemiology and Biostatistics Department is one of four key departments of the School of Public Health (SPH), located on the Hohoe campus of the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) in the Volta Region of Ghana. The department has the following units:

Department of Family and Community Health
The Department of Family and Community Health within the School of Public Health, University of Health and Allied Sciences, Hohoe is a dynamic, diverse, and broad-based academic department that currently houses Tracks in Nutrition, Public Health Nursing and Mental Health. The department is dedicated to providing leadership to achieve the highest standards of education and research to our undergraduate students. The department is also currently developing a graduate programme in nutritional sciences and contributing towards the masters in Public Health as part of the overall strategy of the School. The mission of the Department of Populations and Behavioral Sciences is to improve health throughout the lifespan. This mission is to be achieved through research that will identify the social and behavioral determinants of health, develop and evaluate interventions and policies which will lead to the improvement of population health, and the preparation of professionals and researchers who will fill leadership positions in advocacy and public service. The department also intends to train both scholars and practitioners: scholars whose research will shed light on basic social determinants of health and who will identify and test innovative social policy and service interventions; practitioners who are skilled in designing, implementing and evaluating health-enhancing interventions in action settings.
